Expressing confidence in India, which is chairing the G-20, French President Emmanuel Macron said he is confident that his "friend" and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will bring everyone together to build a peaceful and sustainable world.

Prior to Macron, US President Joe Biden on Friday described India as a strong partner of America and said that he is eager to support his 'friend' Prime Minister Modi during India's G-20 presidency.

India formally assumed the presidency of the G-20 on Thursday.

Sharing a picture of himself and Prime Minister Modi in a tweet on Sunday, Macron endorsed the theme of "One Earth, One Family, One Future" that India has chosen to work on during its presidency of the G-20. .

The French President tweeted, "One earth, one family, one future."

India has taken over the presidency of G-20.

I trust my friend Narendra Modi to bring us together to build a world of peace and a more sustainable one.

Prime Minister Modi on Thursday said India will work to promote unity inspired by the theme of "one earth, one family, one future" and listed terrorism, climate change, pandemic as biggest challenges, Which can be fought together.

In an article, Modi said, "India's G20 priorities will be shaped in consultation not only with our G20 partners, but also our allies in the southern part of the world, whose voices are often unheard." This article appeared in many newspapers and was also posted on their website.

He said that India's G-20 agenda will be inclusive, ambitious, action-oriented and decisive.

The next G-20 Leaders' Summit at the level of Heads of State/Government will be held in New Delhi on 9 and 10 September.

Maldivian President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih also congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the people of India on assuming the presidency of the G20.

He had tweeted, "I am confident that the Indian leadership will encourage diplomacy and dialogue to find long-term solutions to burning issues in global affairs and build consensus."
