Taiwan's first charity run for the visually impaired started in Kaohsiung this morning.

[Reporter Fang Zhixian/Kaohsiung Report] Taiwan's first "I am your visually impaired public welfare road run" with the theme of visually impaired friends started in Kaohsiung this morning. A total of 1,773 people participated, 37 of whom were visually impaired. Participants and 37 accompanying runners participated. The organizer also donated 100 yuan per person from the registration fee of ordinary runners, and a total of 180,000 yuan was donated to visually impaired groups, calling on everyone to run together for charity.

This road run for the visually impaired is hosted by the Kaohsiung Marathon Association. The competition is divided into 3 groups: 21km half-marathon, 10km challenge and 5km health. Director of Investigation Wang Junli, Legislator Zhao Tianlin, Chairman of Kaohsiung City Marathon Association Su Zicong and others fired their guns and started the race together.

Chen Qimai said in his speech that in October this year, the Kaohsiung Marathon created the first visually impaired group, wheelchair group and sports wheelchair group to open up milestones for equal rights in sports for the disabled. The road runner got up early to respond. He thanked the organizer Marathon Association and the volunteers for their hard work, and wished everyone a happy run.

Su Zicong also said, after the launch of "I am your visually impaired road run", it has been supported and sponsored by many local companies. In addition to the free participation of visually impaired runners and accompanying runners, the registration fee for each general runner is donated 100 yuan to disabled groups, and a total of 180,000 yuan was donated for public welfare purposes.

The Charity Road Run starts from Cuihua Road and Jiuru 4th Road, goes northward via Xiongfeng Road, then turns back at Gushan 3rd and 2nd Roads to Penglai Road. Sports, together use the strength of your feet to turn into love, and let the society pay attention to the sports equality of the disabled.
