Delhi Congress President Anil Chowdhary found his name missing from the voter list when he went to cast his vote.

New Delhi :

MCD Elections 2022: Voting is going on for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD Elections).

By the way, apart from the ruling Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi, the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress are also in the fray, but the main contest is likely to be between the BJP and the AAP.

Counting of votes will take place on December 7.

Voting started at 8 am in all 250 wards of MCD, which will end at 5:30 pm.

The BJP has been in power in the MCD since 2007 and is trying to come to power for the fourth time.

However, Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) can prove to be an obstacle in this path of the party.

The Delhi State Election Commission has set up 13,638 polling stations for the MCD elections. 68 Model Polling Stations and 68 Pink Voting Centers have been set up for the quality experience of the voters.

Voting for the MCD elections has been peaceful so far.

When Delhi Pradesh Congress President Anil Chowdhary reached the polling booth in Dallupura to cast his vote on Sunday morning, he found his name missing from the voter's list.

Choudhary said, "My name is neither in the voter list nor in the deleted list. My wife has cast her vote. Officials are probing it."

Let us tell you, both BJP and Aam Aadmi Party have fielded 250 candidates each, while Congress is contesting only on 247 seats.

Talking about BJP, it is in control of MCD since 2007.

During the tenure of 15 years, this party has seen the municipal body split into NDMC, SDMC and EDMC (2012-2022).

The integration of all the three corporations has been done in the beginning of this year itself.
