A resident of Zaporozhye tried to illegally cross the border and get to Romania.

A 42-year-old man wanted to escape from Ukraine with his pet.

This was reported in the Western regional office of the State Border Service.

A 42-year-old man arrived in Transcarpathia to illegally cross the border.

In addition to personal belongings and funds, the evader carried his pet, a Yorkshire terrier named Timofey.

The detainee explained to the border guards that his family had left for Belgium.

He wanted to illegally cross the border with Romania, and then leave for Belgium.

The offender did not know how to cross the border.

According to him, his wife found "dealers" through social networks who promised to ferry him to Romania.

For this, the swindlers ordered to go to Solotvino.

There is a section of the Ukrainian-Romanian border that runs along the Tisza River.

However, the attackers did not inform that the man would have to cross the border through a deep and cold river in which he could drown with his dog.

Currently, law enforcement officers are identifying persons involved in the organization of the detainee's illegal travel.

A protocol has been drawn up on the offender himself for committing an administrative offense under Art.

"Illegal crossing or attempted illegal crossing of the state border of Ukraine".

The case was referred to the court.

The State Border Service reminded that since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, more than 10 people have died in the waters of the border Tisza.

Two men who recently nearly drowned were saved by border guards.

It will be recalled that in November, the SBU blocked four more channels of illegal departure abroad of Ukrainians of conscription age in Zakarpattia, Lviv, and Sumy regions.
