In Kyiv, they are preparing for the worst-case scenarios in case of repeated attacks on the energy infrastructure by the Russian occupiers.

In the event of a prolonged blackout, organizations that serve metropolitan high-rise buildings will have to drain water from the district heating system as soon as possible to avoid freezing of water in the pipes.

Deputy Mayor and Secretary of the Kyiv City Council Volodymyr Bondarenko announced this on the air of the telethon.

"In the event of a long-term blackout, service organizations will have to drain water from houses connected to the centralized heating system as soon as possible to avoid freezing of water in the pipes," he said.

According to Bondarenko, such measures are necessary, because due to the freezing of water in the system, houses with central heating may remain without heat until spring.

Pumping stations will work to supply water to Kyiv residents.

The list of stores that will work even in the event of a complete blackout from backup power is also being updated.

We will remind, earlier the mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko warned that in case of new powerful Russian shelling, the capital may be left without electricity, heating, water supply and drainage.
