The strike should begin on Thursday, December 8.

Magyar Hang writes about it.

"Let there be a general shutdown of national education, let's call it a strike or an action of civil disobedience.

Teachers, get organized!

Parents, stay with us!

There is no need to encourage students," said trade union representative Elizabeth Nagy

at the December 3 protest

.

The organizers asked parents, if possible, not to send their children to school or kindergarten on the day of the strike, because there will be no one there at that time.

If training is not carried out, parents will not have to prove the absence of children from classes.

In addition, the student organization "United Student Front" announced a protest in defense of education on December 9.

The action will be held near the building of the Hungarian state television and radio company MTVA, which is being asked to give the students air time to talk about the latest protests and their causes.

Teachers in Hungary have been systematically demanding higher wages and better working conditions for the past few months.

At the same time, the Hungarian government actually forbade teachers to go on strike, having adopted the corresponding decree back in February.

Since then, however, hundreds of teachers across the country have participated in "civil disobedience" actions.

Some of them were fired for this, which caused an even greater protest among teachers and students.

Hungarian teachers' unions have already announced that they will file a lawsuit against their government at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.

Earlier it was reported that the European Commission recommended "freezing" the allocation of 7.5 billion euros from the EU funds to Hungary due to problems with the rule of law and failure to implement relevant reforms.

As a result of the leadership of the government led by

Viktor Orban

, the state also has problems with freedom of the press.
