The epidemic of coronavirus (COVID-19) 32364

The coronavirus, combined with two other epidemics that are raging in the country - influenza and bronchiolitis - have forced the French health authorities to discuss the return of some restrictive measures.

Three epidemics of respiratory viruses are currently circulating on the territory of France - influenza, COVID-19 and bronchiolitis, which, combined with other winter viruses, complicate the health situation in the country.

Although it is rare to be infected with several of them at the same time, experts warn.

The number of COVID-19 cases is also skyrocketing, rising by as much as 40% in the last week alone.

This mix of viruses is currently spreading more intensively because of forgotten precautions in recent months.

In this regard, the advice to the most vulnerable groups of the population is for vaccination against both COVID-19 and influenza.

WHO: 90% of the population has developed immunity to COVID-19

Less than three weeks before Christmas, health authorities in France are talking about a ninth wave of COVID-19, which is expected to affect the population en masse around the holidays.

BQ.1.1 is the subvariant that currently takes precedence.

It is known to be highly contagious, but there is still not enough information on whether it leaves severe marks on health.

Due to the large number of sick people in the country, the government is discussing the return of wearing masks in public transport.

French authorities recommend giving a fourth dose to all people under 60, especially those who have direct contact with the elderly.
