An Indigo flight going from Kannur to Doha in Kerala was diverted at Mumbai airport on Friday due to a technical glitch.

The airline said that flight number 6E-1715 was diverted to Mumbai as a precaution.

"The operating crew observed a technical problem and diverted the aircraft to Mumbai for necessary maintenance. Passengers are being accommodated in an alternate aircraft for their onward journey," the company said in a statement.

According to a senior DGCA official, the aircraft was diverted due to a hydraulic leak.

Details about the number of passengers on board the aircraft were not immediately available.
