Mamta Banerjee's TMC had coined the slogan 'Khela Hobe' before the 2021 assembly elections

Kolkata :

Using the popular slogan 'Khela Hobe' of the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) in West Bengal, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said that assembly elections may be held in the state before the scheduled time.

BJP's West Bengal unit president Sukanta Majumdar said that his party believes in non-violence, which does not mean that it will not react if push comes to shove.

Addressing a public meeting at Barrackpore in North 24 Parganas district on Friday, the BJP leader said, "The game will be played by both sides ('khela hobe') and it will be dangerous."

Mamta Banerjee's Trinamool Congress coined the slogan 'Khela Hobe' before the 2021 assembly elections and it became extremely popular.

Many other parties outside West Bengal also later used this slogan.

Sukant Majumdar said, “I assure you that the Trinamool Congress government, which is selling state assets, will be removed in a few years.

Pointing to the possibility of early elections in the state, the BJP leader claimed that he would not be surprised if the assembly elections in West Bengal are held along with the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The Trinamool Congress government led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has come to power in the state for the third consecutive time in 2021.

Majumdar claimed that around 300 TMC workers are behind bars in cases related to post-2021 election violence, which are being probed by the CBI.

Apart from this, cases are likely to be registered against more people, he said. Majumdar said that as long as Narendra Modi is the Prime Minister, no one involved in illegal activities will be spared, irrespective of the position he holds. .
