The two-day NATO summit in Bucharest showed that the West is not interested in negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin and intends to support Ukraine to victory.

This opinion was expressed by the Russian publicist and sociologist

Andriy Piontkovskyi

on the air of the TV channel "Freedom".

According to him, a lot of positive decisions were made as a result of the NATO summit, the most important of which is

the Pentagon's contract for the production of NASAMS missile systems for Ukraine

.

"This is the most important thing. For the first time, we are talking about the Pentagon's order for Ukraine. That is, not from warehouses - warehouses are good, but they are running out," the expert explained.

Piontkovsky also emphasized that "many wonderful things were said" at the summit.

"

For example, the words of Stoltenberg. He said - yes, we pay the price for this war, but we pay with money, and the Ukrainians - with blood

. They always understood this, but never admitted it. This is a very important statement. It means that early sooner or later, let it not be today, but tomorrow, they will dare to use all means to end the conflict as soon as possible," - believes the Russian publicist.

The expert also recalled the speech of the head of the US State Department, Anthony Blinken:

"On the second day, Blinken explained for an hour what you and I have been talking about for several months. No negotiations with Putin are possible, negotiations are just a tool for him to get a break, to regroup.

The only way to peace is the complete withdrawal of the occupying forces

." .

According to him, the West today demonstrates a decisive political mood:

"We see what tough statements the same Pope Francis makes. Tectonic changes in the political class of Germany, Steinmeier, who for us was a symbol of capitulation, declares that no negotiations are possible... The final decision of the West - he decided to finish with Putin."

We will remind, following the results of the NATO summit in Bucharest, it became known that the Pentagon signed a contract for the production of NASAMS missile systems for Ukraine.

They plan to produce 6 anti-aircraft missile systems for a total amount of more than 1.2 billion dollars by November 28, 2025.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the Western allies will increase the production of ammunition to provide Ukraine.

In a joint statement, the NATO countries confirmed again that the doors of the Alliance are open to Ukraine.
