Our cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of transit and logistics is important.

"APA-Economics" informs that this was said by Peter Mikhalko, the ambassador of the European Union (EU) to Azerbaijan, at the opening ceremony of the project "Support for the implementation of the Green Port Concept of Baku Port and strengthening of operational capabilities".

He added that the EU strives to meet high standards when cooperating with partners.

This includes digital transit, green growth, the economy, and other projects they work on together.

The head of the EU Delegation in Azerbaijan added that the EU cooperates with its partners within the framework of mechanisms and uses tools.

As an example, Peter Michalko spoke about the Economic Investment Plan for Eastern Partnership countries of the EU.

We work closely with the government to develop the private sector.

I am very glad that I am here today, participating in the launch of this important project aimed at the implementation of the green port concept and the expansion of its operational functions.

This is about the priorities we support," the ambassador added.

Peter Mikhalko also emphasized that the EU is working closely with the government of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Economy to organize a high-level working group on economic investments: "We are also negotiating a project with the Baku Port at its request, which is related to the installation of solar panels. This is an important perspective for the green port concept."

The EU diplomat noted that Baku Port has an important role in the Middle Corridor concept and emphasized that they will continue their support in this sense.

"Companies from EU countries can share their experience with you, especially their experience in the field of services. There is already cooperation, a number of companies are cooperating, and it will develop. Some of the transport lines already pass through this port, either those going to the EU or to other countries from the EU. going in that direction. This flow will increase.

Also the current political situation, Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine, this flow is already increasing and we have to be ready for this reality. We already have a successful cooperation and how can we develop it further? I am here for that."
