Hearing on ISRO espionage case was held in the Supreme Court today.

The Supreme Court canceled the anticipatory bail order of the accused in the case of allegedly trapping Nambi Narayanan.

The Supreme Court directed the Kerala High Court to hear afresh the bail pleas of the advanced accused in the ISRO espionage case.

The Supreme Court said that till then the accused would be protected. 

In fact, the Kerala High Court had granted anticipatory bail to the five accused police and IB officers.

The CBI challenged the bail order in the Supreme Court.

Petition filed by the CBI challenging the anticipatory bail granted by the Kerala High Court to police officers S Vijayan, Thampi S Durgadutt and former Intelligence Bureau officers RB Sreekumar and S Jayaprakash in a case relating to the framing of ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan in the 1994 espionage case But the Supreme Court was hearing.

The Supreme Court said that the Kerala High Court should take a decision on the bail plea after hearing it again in four weeks.

The accused will not be arrested for five weeks.

Justice MR Shah's bench in the Supreme Court gave its verdict.

While reserving the judgment, the Supreme Court had indicated that the matter may be sent back to the Kerala High Court for re-examination.

The CBI has challenged the bail granted by the Kerala High Court to the accused, including former Kerala DGP Sibi Mathews.

The other accused in the case are PS Jayaprakash, Thampi S Durga Dutt, Vijayan and RB Sreekumar.
