On the morning of Friday, December 2, in the capital of Greece, unknown assailants destroyed one of the two cars in the parking lot of the residence of the first adviser of the Italian embassy with the help of "Molotov cocktails".

This was reported by GR Times.

In addition to the car that caught fire, the fire damaged another car that was standing nearby.

At the scene, the police found bottles with flammable liquid, lighters and matches.

The destroyed car belongs to the Italian diplomat, the first counselor of the embassy in Athens, Suzanne Shlein.

The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement in which it "strongly condemned the serious criminal act against Susanna Schlein and her family."

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Maloni said it was a "probable attack of anarchist origin."

The Greek authorities also strongly condemned the attack.

"Such unacceptable actions will in no way disrupt the excellent relations and long-standing friendly ties between Greece and its partner and ally Italy," the Greek Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Attacks on political diplomatic targets, banks or foreign companies using improvised incendiary devices, which cause damage but rarely result in casualties, are common in Greece.

The police blame them on ultra-left or anarchist groups.

We will remind, on Wednesday, November 30, an explosion rang out in the Embassy of Ukraine in Madrid.

As a result, one of the employees of the diplomatic agency was injured.
