Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said on Thursday that there is immense potential for film production in Bihar and his government has taken several measures to promote film production in the state.

The Chief Minister said that films promote tourism and generate employment for the people of Bihar, films also portray the rich culture and traditions of the state.

Nitish said, “Apart from developing Shekhodeora in Nawada, a state-of-the-art film city is already being constructed by the state government in Rajgir.

The natural cinematic treasures of the state are enough to attract filmmakers.

Now initiative should be taken to facilitate film production in Bihar and give full institutional support to the producers.

Earlier in the day, during a meeting, officials briefed Nitish about the salient features of the draft Bihar Film Promotion Policy.
