The Ministry of Culture reported that today there is no question of transferring the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

This was informed by the Minister of Culture and Information Policy Oleksandr Tkachenko.

He emphasized that in fact the registration of the legal entity of the OCU took place on the territory of the National Reserve "Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra", in the monastery, which is located opposite the territory of the Upper Lavra and is part of the reserve.

"

The legal entity

"Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra (men's monastery) UOC (MP) was registered many years ago at the address of st.

Lavrska, 15 (Nizhnya Lavra).

The newly created legal entity

"Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra (men's monastery) of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (OCU) is registered at 14 Lavrska St. (Church of Feodosia Pecherskyi, which is right next to the Upper Lavra). This has the appropriate consent of the National Reserve "Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra" Pechersk Lavra," the head of the Ministry of Culture wrote.

Tkachenko emphasizes that the Church of Feodosius of Pechersky and the buildings within the walls around it were used by the OCU even before the registration of the new legal entity of the OCU.

He reminded that the property of the entire Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra is in the possession of the state, but it is burdened by agreements concluded at different times and under different conditions.

"According to the decision of the NSDC, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is tasked with verifying the existence of legal grounds and compliance with the conditions of use by religious organizations of the property located on the territory of the National Kyiv-Pechersk Historical and Cultural Reserve within a two-month period," the Minister of Culture and Information Policy concluded.
