Tsai was affected by the dissertation war during the election period. The outside world accused him of plagiarism in his doctoral dissertation. The blue camp also held a press conference to ask Taipei University not to delay the review results with excuses.

Taipei University said that after receiving the report, it immediately established a review committee, completed the review process within a three-month period, and then sent it to the parties by registered mail.

A person from the school pointed out that some schools previously announced the results of the review, which caused protests from the parties concerned.
