The sunken temple, which was built about 2000 years ago, was discovered in the Pozzuoli Bay on the opposite side of the ancient "City of Sins".

This is reported by Newsweek.

The ancient city, which was called Baie, was a gambling area for the Roman elite during the heyday of the empire.

Wealthy Romans built luxurious villas on this site.

The city flooded because the architects chose an unfortunate place to build it.

Due to volcanic activity in the Bay of Pozzuoli, the city gradually went under water.

Archaeologists consider this area very interesting for research.

The Romans founded it in 194 BC.

on the site of an ancient Greek colony.

They took advantage of the natural strengthening and built a commercial harbor.

Currently, archaeologists plan to create a detailed map of the area and underwater structures.

Drones and high-resolution images are used for this purpose.

We will remind, in Newfoundland (province of Canada), archaeologists discovered a special artifact.

A gold coin hundreds of years old was found here.

The coin

is planned to be put on display after examination.
