A MiG-31 fighter jet crashed in the Primorsky Krai of Russia.

This was reported on December 2 by the Russian propaganda agency TASS with reference to the emergency services.

It is noted that the crew ejected, the plane fell in a deserted place, so no one was injured.

At the same time, the press service of the Eastern Military District specified that the machine was performing a training flight without ammunition. 

According to preliminary information,

the cause of the accident could be a technical malfunction

.

It is worth noting that the MiG-31 is a two-seat fighter-interceptor that the Russian Federation has repeatedly used and is using in the war against Ukraine.

Moreover, the modernized modification of the aircraft to the level of the MiG-31BM is capable of carrying the Kinzhal hypersonic missile, with which Russia also attacked Ukraine after February 24.

The crew was unable to eject, resulting in the death of both pilots. 

On October 17, a military plane crashed 

into a residential building 

in Yeisk, another settlement of the Russian Federation.

According to the official data of that day, four people died, another 25 were injured.

Later it became known that 13 were killed and 27 were wounded.

Several people are missing.
