A 10-year-old child from the American city of Milwaukee shot his mother at close range because she refused to buy him a virtual reality helmet for 500 dollars.

Initially, the police considered the incident to be an accident and released the child, sending him to relatives.

Later, however, the child's aunt called the uniformed and told shocking things, reports "Daily Mail".

In front of his aunt, the child said that he pointed the weapon directly at his mother.

He took the gun from a safe after taking the key from his mother's key ring.

During the second interrogation, the boy admitted that he was standing very close to his mother when he shot.

He said he only wanted to scare her by shooting at the wall, but she passed in front of him.

The child, whose name has not been released, told police he took the key to the safe the morning of the murder because his mother, Quiana Mann, 44, woke him up at 6am instead of 6.30am.

She also refused to order him an Oculus virtual reality headset from Amazon.

After shooting his mother, he ordered the helmet and asked his grandmother where his package was.

The child's aunt and sister say that he never once cried or expressed regret over his mother's death.

He apologized to his grandmother for what he had done, but there was no hint of regret in his voice.

He is said to have had "anger issues" and heard five different voices in his head, Blitz added.

The child was then arrested again and charged with first degree murder.

He will be tried in court as an adult and is currently being held in juvenile detention.

Under Wisconsin state law, 10-year-olds can be tried as adults for certain crimes, although the shooter's attorney can request that the case be tried in juvenile court.
