(Central News Agency) As Russian rockets continued to fall on neighborhoods in the southern Ukrainian city of Kherson, the Ukrainian military said today that Russian troops had fired from towns across the Dnipro River from Kherson , withdrew part of the troops.

The statement provided limited details and did not mention a Ukrainian crossing of the Dnieper, Reuters reported.

Since the Russian army abandoned the city of Kheson nine months after the invasion of Ukraine, the entire Ukraine front now consists of the Dnieper River.

Russia has asked civilians to evacuate towns within 15 kilometers of the Dnieper and evacuated civil authorities from the city of Nova Kakhovka on the river's banks.

"It has been observed that the number of Russian troops and military equipment in the settlement of Oleshky (a town across the river from Kheson) has decreased," the Ukrainian military said.

The Ukrainian military also said that Russian troops had withdrawn from several settlements in Khesun state and were "dispersed in forested areas".

Reuters could not independently confirm the reports.

However, Russian rockets continued to land on neighborhoods in Kheson, disrupting power supplies in the city.

Nearly three weeks after the Russian army withdrew from Kheson City and crossed the river hastily, the electricity in Kheson City was just about to start to recover.

Several residents were taken to hospital with injuries from today's shelling, while soldiers patrolled the city to check for damage to buildings.
