Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov stated that Russia is behind the explosion on the territory of the Ukrainian embassy in Madrid and dangerous letters in Spain. 

The head of the Ministry of Defense said this at a joint briefing with his Spanish colleague Margarita Robles on December 1.

According to Reznikov, Russia uses terrorist means to cause terror.

"The world is beginning to recognize that

," the minister said.

"Today, the minister spoke about the explosive letters that are already being received in Spain - they (the Russians - ed.) are using terrorist means to cause terror. They are trying to stop the water supply in Ukraine, electricity, so that we are in the cold and in the dark.

," Reznikov emphasized. 

Letters with explosives in Spain

Unknown persons sent a package with explosives to the Ukrainian ambassador to Spain Serhiy Pogoreltsev.

His secretary suspected danger and called a security guard.

However, on November 30, this package exploded on the territory of the embassy in Madrid.

On the same day, a similar package arrived at the headquarters of the Spanish arms manufacturer Instalaza.

In particular, they produce anti-aircraft missiles there, which are transferred to Ukraine.

Another parcel with a bomb was discovered in Madrid on December 1.

It was addressed to the satellite center of the European Union (SatCen).

This is a key institution that provides strategic information to Ukrainian troops.

On December 1, it became known that explosives were also found in letters addressed to the Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sanchez.

On the same day, a letter similar to five previous bomb letters arrived at the US Embassy in Madrid.
