A woman nine months pregnant was shot last night by her ex-husband in the yard of the gynecological clinic in the Kosovo capital, Pristina, KosovaPress reported.

The pregnant 35-year-old woman was divorced from her husband and at the beginning of September she was issued a domestic violence protection order, the agency reports.

She was admitted to the gynecology clinic this weekend as she was expected to give birth to her first child soon.

According to witnesses, there were verbal attacks between the victim and her ex-husband before the murder took place.

According to the information of "Gazeta Blitz" newspaper, received from another pregnant woman in the gynecological clinic, to whom the victim told about the relationship with her ex-husband, he had been trying to establish contact with her since the night before and asked her to go out hospital yard.

Kosovo police asked Kosovo citizens for assistance with information on finding the ex-husband suspected of murdering the woman.

The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, reacted after the case of the murdered pregnant woman and wrote, quoted by KosovaPress, that the answer for rapists and murderers is order, the law and the maximum punishment.

"Another gruesome and inhumane crime.

Another "man" who could not be called a human being, but took the life of the woman and the child who would become the joy and life of his mother.

Tonight (last night) the words are missing, they are replaced by despair.

It's hard to think there's hope tonight!

But tonight, hope and faith are needed more than ever.

This crime wave and this femicide (killing of women) against women must stop.

This is a test for us not only as a country, but also as a society.

No more excuses.

The life of girls and women, like that of every citizen of ours, is sacred," Osmani wrote.

The shooter from Thailand killed his wife and child

Deputy President of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Vlora Citaku, said that this was the second case of the murder of a woman (in Pristina, after the previous week a 63-year-old teacher was killed by her husband while she was sleeping) in the period of the campaign against violence based gender.

“A brutal murder.

Another woman was killed.

And she from her husband.

In the hospital yard.

Where people need to be treated.

In the courtyard of the gynecological clinic.

Where women give birth.

A life that bore another life was snuffed out.

The woman was pregnant.

About 35 years old, not even halfway through her life.

And the child she wanted to give birth to didn't even begin life.

A brutal killer.

Another man shooting at the woman he was supposed to be guarding.

Another man killing a woman.

Which is now ours, all of us.

Together with her unborn child.

Unacceptable and intolerable," wrote Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, quoted by the same agency.

At 16:00 local time (17:00 Bulgarian time) a protest against the killing of women will be held today in Pristina, organized by the Collective for Feminist Thought and Action under the motto "The killing of women by men should be considered a national emergency ".
