The enemy increased the intensity of shelling of the Kupyan district.

On December 1, Oleg Synegubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, announced this in Telegram.

"The intensity of shelling in the Kupyan district has increased several times. During the day, the Russians constantly fired artillery at settlements in the border communities of the district. Fires broke out in houses, farm buildings, warehouses, and open areas were hit," he noted.

Synegubov also added that the border communities of Vovchansk and Lipetsk are also under fire.

Garages were on fire there, facades of private houses were damaged.

There were no casualties.

The head of the OVA also emphasized that the Russians do not stop shelling the positions of the Ukrainian military, but the Armed Forces of Ukraine are strengthening the defensive lines.

We will remind that in September, the Ukrainian Armed Forces conducted a successful counteroffensive in the Kharkiv direction, as a result of which almost all settlements in the region were freed from the occupiers.

In particular, Izyum and Kupyansk.

On September 11, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation admitted that they had lost control over almost the entire captured part of the region.

Later, the General Staff confirmed that the Russians had been expelled from Kharkiv Oblast.

The counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the north-east of Ukraine became the largest and most successful since February 24.
