8,208 motor vehicles were checked as part of the ordered specialist police operation to comply with the Road Traffic Act.

1,989 slips and 525 acts were drawn up for established administrative violations, the Ministry of the Interior announced.

Within the past day, a total of 20 drivers were identified who got behind the wheel after drinking alcohol - 14 of them drove after drinking alcohol from 0.5 to 1.2 per thousand, 6 - with more than 1.2 per 1000, and two stopped for inspection refused to be tested.

11 people were found to be driving under the influence of narcotic substances or their analogues, and seven, stopped for inspection, refused to be tested.
