On December 1, 2022, France's charge d'affaires in the Republic of Azerbaijan, Julien Le Lan, was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and strongly protested against him regarding the false and slanderous resolution adopted against Azerbaijan in the lower house of the French Parliament (National Assembly) on November 30, 2022. reported.

According to the information given to APA by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was noted at the meeting that the resolution adopted in the National Assembly, like the resolution adopted in the Senate some time ago, is another provocation by France against Azerbaijan.

Each of the claims reflected in this resolution, which reflects France's biased and one-sided position against our country against international law, has been answered in a coherent manner.

It was pointed out that this resolution, like several other steps of France, is an attempt to attack the process of normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as the efforts to establish peace and tranquility in the region.

It was emphasized that the statements made by the representative of the French government in the hearings on the resolution clearly demonstrated that the French government was behind that resolution and that this country was unable to act as a fair and neutral mediator.

At the meeting, it was stated that the resolution was firmly rejected by Azerbaijan, and it was once again demanded to refrain from actions and statements that are directed against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, protected by international law, and interference in its internal affairs.

France's temporary chargé d'affaires said that, like the resolution adopted in the Senate some time ago, this resolution adopted in the National Assembly does not reflect the official position of the French government, and that the government supports negotiations on the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

He added that he will convey the position of the Azerbaijani side accordingly.
