After 1 month and 54 hours of intensive training, a total of 8 people passed the lifeguard certification examination of the Sports Department of the Ministry of Education and became national-level qualified lifeguards with licenses. In addition to investing new blood in the field of lifesaving, it also greatly improved the safety of campus water activities.

Luo Kaiyang, the course teacher and associate professor of the Sports and Health Education Center of Sun Yat-Sen University Xiwan College, pointed out that it is not easy to pass the examination of the Sports Department to obtain a lifeguard license. 20-meter diving, 25-meter towing dummy, simulated drowning rescue, rope throwing rescue, long backboard rescue, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (including automatic external cardiac defibrillator operation) and foreign object choking rescue and other surgical tests.

Luo Kaiyang said that the process must be completed within a time limit and the actions must be standardized. Many rescue work procedures must not be wrong at all. These restrictions also increase the difficulty of the test.

Since the test is conducted intensively, physical strength, mental strength and concentration are required in the process to successfully pass a series of tests.

Sun Yat-sen University's water lifesaving course is available to the top-level alliance partner high-level medical students. Students from the two schools do not need to pay additional fees.
