Eggs can reduce inflammation, help you build muscle, and boost your immune system.

A recent study in the journal Nutritional Neuroscience also found that eggs not only benefit your body, but also improve cognitive function.

79 people aged 18 to 75 took part in the experiment.

Doctors conducted tests with participants that assessed cognitive function at various points during the study.

The researchers concluded that while the consumption of eggs and, as a result, NWT-03 egg protein hydrolyzate, did not seem to help participants improve on a test of psychomotor alertness, they did show better results on a test of reaction time.

"During the study, we explored the beneficial chemistry of eggs and how the hydrolyzate of egg whites, which is formed as a result of the breakdown, can be beneficial for health," says author Kieran Campbell.

NWT-03 hydrolyzate has been shown to have the ability to improve cognitive function in the executive function area (this area is responsible for self-regulation, creativity, concentration, reasoning, working memory, inhibitory control, and mental flexibility among other brain functions).

For years, we've been led to think that eating too many whole eggs, including the yolk, which is rich in dietary cholesterol, is bad for our health.

However, new research shows that blood cholesterol levels have little to do with dietary cholesterol intake.

"Egg yolk also contains valuable and health-promoting phytonutrients such as choline, lutein, and zeaxanthin. These nutrients may also play a role in improving cognitive function," adds Campbell.
