US President Joe Biden said he and French President Emmanuel Macron are determined to hold Russia and President Vladimir Putin accountable for its "war on the rest of the world".

This was discussed during the joint press conference of the presidents in the White House on December 1.

The event was dedicated to the state visit of the President of France to the USA.

"Today we confirm that France and the United States, along with all our allies... are stronger than ever in opposing Russia's brutal war against Ukraine," Biden said.

He added that the attack on civilian infrastructure in Ukraine, cutting off energy supplies to Europe in order to inflate prices, and worsening the food crisis are harming very vulnerable people - not only in Ukraine, but all over the world.

He condemned the "imperial ambitions" of the head of the Kremlin.

"He won't succeed," Biden added.

"President Macron and I have decided that we will continue to work together to hold Russia accountable for its actions and mitigate the global consequences of Putin's war on the rest of the world," the US president said.

It will be recalled that the official visit of the President of France to the USA, where he is conducting negotiations with Biden, continues.
