In this year's ranking of the Internationals organization, which surveys people with non-Austrian roots, Vienna is once again ranked among the cities with the best living conditions.

But the "Expat City Ranking 2022", as the ranking is called, ranks the Austrian capital in last place in the "friendliness" category this year as well.

In surveys in recent years, Viennese's bad mood has put the Danube city back in the rankings.

This year, Vienna occupies 27th place among 50 cities in the world (in 2021 it was assigned 14th place out of 57 cities), BTA reported.

The Austrian capital is ahead in the ranking in the categories "tourism and transport" (first place) and "health and well-being" (second place).

People living in Vienna from other countries characterize public transport as well organized (97 percent) and accessible.

The assessment of medical care and the cleanliness of the environment is also very high.

Vienna is not perceived as a particularly expensive city and ranks ninth in the personal finance index.

The "acclimatization" index is a big minus point, Vienna ranks last.

And in the "friendliness" category, the city is last in the ranking.

People who have come to Vienna from other countries describe the Viennese in general as unfriendly and especially unfriendly to foreigners.

More than half of those surveyed (54 percent) said they found it difficult to make friends with Viennese, and 32 percent felt unwelcome.

In this matter, the city is also in the last place.

The favorite city for expats is Valencia, which ranks first in the survey completed by 11,970 expats, followed by Dubai and Mexico.
