The SBU declared suspicion against the deputy chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Oleksandr Babakov, who voted for the annexation of Ukrainian territories.

He also owns energy companies that Russia is targeting.

This is stated in the notification of the SBU.

According to the investigation, Babakov harms Ukraine's sovereignty, promotes Russia's military aggression, and voted for the annexation of Ukrainian territories.

According to the SBU, he, along with other persons, is the ultimate beneficiary of one of the energy companies operating in Ukraine.

In particular, it manages energy infrastructure facilities in Zhytomyr, Kherson, Kirovohrad, Chernivtsi, Rivne regions and Kyiv.

The occupiers regularly fire rockets at them.

Putin's henchman was notified in absentia of suspicion under part 3 of Art.

110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine).

Rocket attacks on the energy infrastructure of Ukraine

Since October 10, Russian terrorists have been launching massive rocket attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. On November 23, the last rocket attack took place.

Then Russia fired 70 missiles at our energy facilities and residential buildings, of which 51 were shot down.

Anders Aslund, a senior researcher at the Eurasian Center of the Atlantic Council, believes that Ukraine has a gap for national security in energy supply.

According to him, the Russian nationalist Alexander Babakov owns a significant share in eleven of the 24 Ukrainian regional energy companies.
