Advisor to the President's Office, Oleksiy Arestovych, said that more than 10,000 Ukrainian defenders had already died in the war.

He said this in a conversation with Russian journalist Yulia Latynina.

Arestovych reacted to the statement of the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, who made inaccuracies when commenting on Ukraine's losses in the war with the Russian Federation.

According to him, it is about

more than 10,000 killed

Ukrainian defenders and there are "many wounded - tens of thousands".

These are all the Defense Forces, not just the Armed Forces.

"Remember, in August, General Zaluzhny gave the figure of 9,000 dead. It has not changed much since then. The ratio of killed Ukrainian soldiers to Russian ones is at least 1 to 7. There are no

100,000 dead Ukrainian soldiers

. I would never have named this is a number, we would keep it a secret, but since the president of the European Commission has already made a mistake, we have to respond publicly to it. Russian losses

are eight times greater

, "said the adviser to the OP.

Arestovych added that in Ukraine, most of the wounded -

96% - return to the army

.

In contrast to Russia, where the ratio of killed and wounded is 1 to 1 or to 1.5 due to the poor system of medical support and the lack of first aid for the occupiers.

Later, in a conversation with the Russian journalist and human rights defender Mark Feigin, the adviser to the OP specified that Ukraine's losses in the war with the Russian Federation amounted to

"from 10 to 20 thousand dead soldiers"

.

He refused to name the exact figure.

It will be recalled that the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, stated that the losses of the Ukrainian military allegedly amounted to 100,000 people killed.

Later, the European Commission explained the mistake of its head, saying that this figure was taken from external sources and related to the loss of killed and wounded and "was intended to show the brutality of Russia."

The President's Office stated that

only the Commander-in-Chief, the Minister of Defense or the Supreme Commander-in-Chief

of Ukraine should provide reliable information about Ukraine's losses  .

Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to the head of the OP, noted that the Russian Federation lost 200,000 soldiers in the war against Ukraine, of which 90,000 were killed.

On August 22, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valery Zaluzhnyi, said that almost 9,000 Ukrainian heroes died in the war with the Russian Federation
