"Israel conducted a successful test of a long-range interceptor missile for the first time," reported the local media Mnews.

"In the test carried out in the territorial waters of the State of Israel, the missile detected and hit the target," the publication also pointed out, citing an official announcement by the Ministry of Defense of the Middle Eastern country.

"The missile was fired from a ship of the Naval Forces of the Jewish state and hit a target imitating an advanced cruise missile," Migneuz added.

"The missile can fly up to 5,500 kilometers. It can hit aircraft, drones, cruise and ballistic missiles, as well as surface-to-water and water-to-water missiles," added the media.
