South Korea

 's military said it mobilized its fighter jets on Wednesday after six Russian and two Chinese

fighter jets

entered its air defense zone without prior notice.

Seoul's Joint Chiefs of Staff said that China

 's H-6 bombers entered and exited the Korea Air Defense Identification Zone several times 

on Wednesday morning on the southern and northeastern coast of South Korea .

A few hours later, he returned from this zone to the East Sea.

It is also called the Sea of ​​Japan.

These aircraft were accompanied by Russian warplanes, including two Su-35 fighter jets and 4 TU-95 bombers.

These warplanes eventually exited the zone and did not enter South Korea's airspace.  

ADIZ is an area that is larger than the country's airspace, in which it tries to control aircrafts for security reasons, but the definition of this concept has not been given in any international agreement.  

The Joint Chiefs of Staff said in a statement that, "Before the entry of Chinese and Russian warplanes into KADIZ, our army had deployed fighter jets of the Airforce so that strategic steps could be taken against any infiltration attempt."

According to Seoul's Yonhap news agency, it is believed that China and Russia were practicing joint air training. 

The incident comes at a time when the US is pressuring North Korea's biggest ally China to contain North Korea, which has conducted record-breaking missile tests this year.
