A 22-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a 'bike taxi' driver and his friend when the victim had booked a bike taxi to go somewhere.

The police gave this information on Tuesday.

Police said that the incident took place in the Electronic City police station area on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday.

A police source told that the victim is a resident of Kerala.

Bangalore Police Commissioner Prathap Reddy said, "The girl had booked a taxi service from a 'bike taxi company' to go from one friend's house to another.

On the way, the driver took advantage of the opportunity and took the victim to his place, where he along with his friend raped the girl.

A woman was also present on the spot during the crime.

Reddy told reporters here that the matter came to light on November 26 when the victim went to the doctor after feeling unwell.

He said that the police immediately registered a case and started investigation and arrested the accused.

The officer said that evidence has been collected from the spot with the help of the forensic team. Police said that one of the accused has an old criminal record.
