One person was injured after an explosion at the Ukrainian embassy in Madrid, Sky News reported.

An employee of Kyiv's mission in the Spanish capital opened a letter containing explosives, the British news agency added.

The victim was admitted to hospital with minor injuries.

The area around the Embassy of Ukraine in Spain has been cordoned off by police officers.
