The prosecutor's office in the Albanian capital, Tirana, has signed five arrest warrants in connection with the cyberattacks against state-run Albanian systems, Euronews Albania reported.

According to Euronews Albania sources, the individuals are employees of the Public Administration and the Ministry of Interior of Albania.

They are accused of abuse of office.

Since 2021, Albania has been the target of cyber-attacks, including this year on July 15, when all official government websites and the online service platform "e-Albania" were blocked, and on September 14, when the general government management system was attacked. information (TIMS - Total Information Management System) at all border points of the country.

Albania blamed Iran for these cyberattacks and severed diplomatic relations with the country in early September of this year.
