The Prime Minister of Finland, Sanna Marin, stated the need to increase

aid to

Ukraine in order to ensure victory in the war against Russia.

"We need hard power when it comes to Ukraine. They need weapons, they need financial support, they need humanitarian support, and we also need to make sure that all the refugees fleeing Ukraine are accepted into Europe," Marin told reporters under during the first ever visit of the Finnish prime minister to New Zealand and Australia.

According to Marin, the war has a very specific meaning for Finland because of the 1,300-kilometer border with Russia.

Marin noted that her country has already transferred ten batches of weapons to Ukraine.

"We must be sure that they will win," the premier summed up.

In addition, Finland's prime minister called on Western countries to ensure "tougher sanctions against Russia" because the war has affected everyone, including people around the world who are suffering from rising energy prices.

Aid from Finland to Ukraine

Western countries have been actively providing military and humanitarian aid to Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion.

training the Ukrainian military on its territory.
