The village of Kozach Lopan in Kharkiv Oblast was occupied by the Russians for more than half a year.

Residents say that at that time the occupiers mocked them, beat them and tortured them with electric current.

Deputy of the local community Oleg Digalo told his story to "Radio Liberty".

According to the man, from the first days of the occupation, Oleg Digalo, his wife, 29-year-old son and 17-year-old daughter, as well as a nephew, lived in the same house with his wife and child.

One day, almost two dozen occupiers came to their yard, knocking out the iron gate with an armored personnel carrier.

They knocked everyone present to the ground.

Then the men - Oleg, his son and nephew - were tied up, put in a car and taken to the railway station to a specially created torture chamber, while the women were left at home.

"My son is disabled since childhood. He has hemophilia. When we were taken there to the basement, I screamed a lot, asking not to beat him. He has hemophilia, you can't beat him, because the bleeding won't stop. The more I screamed, the more they he was beaten. My nephew Artem shouted: "Bitches, don't beat my brother". He knew that he would be beaten next, and he was beaten, but he was silent, endured. And when he was being beaten, my son was already shouting so that they would not beat him brother. I am proud of my children," says Oleg, not holding back tears, remembering the experience.

His son and nephew stayed in the basement for 3 days, on the 4th they were released.

Oleg Digalo stayed in the torture chamber for 8 days, then he was transported to Hoptivka, where he was kept in the basement for 2 days.

"As soon as they brought me to the torture chamber, they hung me up by my arms, beat me in the chest, beat me on my legs with some kind of stick or club. They put some kind of injections in my legs, they said that they wanted to knock the meat off my bones, so that in the future I would become disabled." , - says the deputy.

He says that he and his family were mocked because he is a deputy.

Many people were brought to the torture chamber at the railway station.

The man was tortured with electric shock and threatened that his 17-year-old daughter would be raped before his eyes.

However, fortunately this did not happen.

Before the war, Oleg Digalo bred horses in Kozachai Lopan.

During the occupation, shells flew at the farm, which killed half of the horses.

The occupiers did not allow animals to be evacuated, there was nothing to feed them, and they mined the area around the stable.

"We will rebuild everything, breed even more horses, make it even better than it was," says Oleg Digalo.

Before the war, 6 thousand people lived in the village.

Journalists managed to meet only 11 people on the streets of the settlement.

We will remind you that in the Kherson region, the occupiers tortured a local pastor and his 19-year-old son to death.

Their unrecognizable bodies were found in the local forest.
