For the first time in half a year of operation of the UNITED24 fundraising platform, initiated by the President of Ukraine, six of its ambassadors announced a joint charity campaign at once.

Andriy Shevchenko, Oleksandr Usyk, Scott Kelly, Elina Svitolina, Liev Schreiber and Timothy Snyder teamed up to raise money for generators for Ukrainian hospitals.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the ambassadors of UNITED24.

"Today, it is very important to maintain unity in the world in terms of supporting Ukraine in order to get through this difficult period. The terrible war against our country continues. With the onset of winter, we faced new challenges in connection with Russia's terrorist attacks on infrastructure facilities, primarily energy. But I am 100 percent sure that we will win," the president emphasized.

UNITED24 ambassadors will collect funds for 1,000 generators for Ukrainian hospitals.

After all, due to constant attacks on the energy infrastructure, Ukrainian doctors are forced to save lives and perform complex operations by the light of flashlights.

The legendary astronaut Scott Kelly heard this firsthand - the day before, he visited the Ohmatdyt Children's Hospital, where he talked with small patients and their doctors.

"I have seen children who have been injured as a result of Russian missile attacks. I am amazed by the strength of spirit of these children and the professionalism of the doctors working in such difficult conditions," said Scott Kelly.

To popularize the gathering, Kelly, together with Shevchenko and Usyk, took part in the filming of videos that took place in the evening, unlit Kyiv.

Football player and coach Andriy Shevchenko told the President that for the first time in his life he saw the main stadium of the country, NSC Olimpiyskiy, without any lights.

"Even in the dark, Olimpiyskiy is beautiful," Shevchenko said. "I am sure that soon it will be filled with fans again. And today, first of all, we must return the light to the place where it really saves lives, in hospitals throughout Ukraine."

Tennis player Elina Svitolina will dedicate her charity evening to the collection of generators.

The event will take place on December 2 in Monaco.

But Liev Schreiber started his collection a few days ago.

The famous actor and director wrote the script for the promotional video and actively involves the world community in supporting Ukraine.

Historian Timothy Snyder shared with his colleagues the development of the Shahed Hunter, a powerful anti-drone system that will be able to protect infrastructure from deadly Iranian drones.

"Today it is very important to protect the energy system of Ukraine, and the international audience understands this. I can see this from the response to "The Shahed Hunter". I emphasize that today Ukraine gives much more to the world than we give to Ukraine. It is an example of courage for the whole world." , Snyder said.

World heavyweight boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk will not only popularize the collection for hospitals, but will also make a personal contribution: "I understand how important generators are and how many lives they can save. That's why I'm joining myself and will call on the support of the entire international community."
