Bhopal:

In Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal city, three 'green corridors' were made on Monday to transport three vital organs of a brain dead person to Gujarat, Indore and a local hospital for transplant.

According to doctors, this is the first time that three green corridors have been made for organ transplant in Bhopal.

Under the Green Corridor, the police, in collaboration with other agencies, stop the traffic on the route it is to pass in advance to make way for the ambulance carrying the organs to be transplanted, so that it does not have to pass through any traffic on the road. Do not have to face any kind of obstacle.

Dr. Subodh Varshney, director of Bhopal-based Siddhant Super Specialty Hospital, told 'PTI-Bhasha' that 23-year-old Anmol Jain had met with an accident a few days ago.

After the accident, he underwent brain surgery at a hospital here and was then shifted to Siddhant Super Specialty Hospital on the night of 26 November.

He said, “Jain was brought brain dead to our hospital.

The family members decided to donate his organs.

After discussion, we completed the process of organ donation.

Dr Varshney said that the authorities were contacted and the patient's heart, liver and kidneys were taken out from 9 am to 11 am.

He said that the heart was taken to Ahmedabad in Gujarat, the liver was sent to Choithram Hospital and Research Center in Indore, while one kidney was taken to Chirayu Hospital Bhopal and the other kidney was transplanted to a patient at Siddhant Hospital Bhopal itself.

Dr. Varshney told that due to 'logistic' reasons, the lungs of the deceased person could not be sent for transplant.

The first Green Corridor was built to transport the heart from Siddhant Hospital to the airport, from where it was airlifted to Ahmedabad, while the second Green Corridor was built to transport the liver to Indore and the third Green Corridor to a local private hospital. Designed to deliver one kidney.

Dr. Varshney said that liver transplant is going on in Indore, while the remaining three transplants have been done successfully.
