Service dogs look for people under rubble, demine territories, guard the border of our state and many other things, but they also need help - it is necessary to provide four-legged first-aid kits for them, says TSN.

During such difficult work, dogs are often injured.

These are mostly cuts on the paws and other parts of the body.

Getting dust, earth into the eyes, fractures, and sometimes contusions.

Special sticky covers for four-legged friends save from cuts.

And first aid kits with various drugs, hemostatic ointments, bandages, tourniquets, and eye drops are also necessary.

However, not all service dogs, which are currently involved in rescuing people, demining territories, and protecting the border, have such life-saving covers and their own first-aid kits.

"Defenders have first aid kits for themselves.

But there are no tailed friends for themselves," the volunteers explain.

Kateryna and Olena are the heads of the "Khvostata Banda" charity fund.

It was their efforts to evacuate the dogs, in particular from the Borodyanka shelter, which were locked in enclosures during the occupation.

Now the girls want to help service dogs and buy first aid kits for them.

There are 24 names of drugs in the first-aid kit.

"There are scissors here for a quick haircut, because these are small animals and they need their hair cut.

Tweezers, antibiotic ointment, antiseptics, peroxide, various syringes, a catheter, ordinary tape, they definitely asked for a thermometer, eye drops, ear drops, plasters, things to remove ticks, there is also a tourniquet to stop the bleeding." - volunteers tell about the contents of the first aid kit.

First-aid kits are attached to the dogs themselves, so it is possible to attach them to the fighter.

"There is a total need for 400 first-aid kits for 500 dogs.

We understand there that 100 are resting, 400 are currently serving," the volunteers explain.

The cost of one first-aid kit is 1,200 hryvnias.

The collection was opened for 400 pieces, which is 480 thousand hryvnias.

Despite the large amount of equipment and people working on the rubble, there is no substitute for a dog's sense of smell.

They will find and show exactly where the person is, then you can get him faster.

So by helping dogs, people are helping themselves.
