The authorities in Angola have announced the arrest of Isabel dos Santos, the daughter of the country's former president who was once thought to be the richest woman in Africa, on suspicion of corruption, the country's attorney general has issued these orders.

Hélder Pitta Grós, told a news agency that the country aims to capture the suspect who was once the head of a state-owned oil company through Interpol.

Interpol issues 'red notices' which are requests to law enforcement agencies around the world to locate and detain someone.

As of this morning, no such information for Ms. dos Santos was listed in Interpol's online database.

dos Santos comes after years of investigation by Angolan authorities into the vast wealth he amassed while his father, José Eduardo dos Santos, who died in July, was president.

During the 38 years that his father was in power, Santos has been facing accusations of corruption.

The current president of Angola, Joao Lourenco, promised to fight corruption and corruption in the country.
