During November 22-24, the

IAEA

mission visited the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant and the Central Radioactive Waste Management Enterprise.

They witnessed Russia's attack on the critical infrastructure of Ukraine.

This was reported by the press service of the State Inspection for Nuclear Regulation of Ukraine.

"It should be noted that

IAEA representatives were carrying out a mission in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone at the time when Russian troops carried out another missile attack on the energy infrastructure of Ukraine

- on November 23, 2022. Therefore, IAEA inspectors became direct witnesses of the de-energization of the industrial site of the ChNPP DSP and the transfer of "objects to the emergency power supply system from diesel generators," the message says.

It is also noted that the representatives of the IAEA had the opportunity to communicate directly with the staff of state-owned specialized enterprises, familiarize themselves with the available equipment and working conditions.

The representatives of the mission also studied the current state of the enterprises' facilities with the aim of providing the necessary assistance, namely the renewal of the technical equipment of the ChNPP and CPPRV DSPs.
