In the afternoon of November 29, a powerful explosion thundered in the Russian city of Chelyabinsk.

According to the Kremlin's propaganda media, the explosions occurred in a quarry for the extraction of crushed stone.

This is reported by Russian propaganda publications with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Chelyabinsk region.

"About 5 p.m. local time, residents of Chelyabinsk began to report an explosion and a plume of smoke on social networks. The Ministry of Emergency Situations clarified that in the area of ​​the Starosmolinsky quarry during the production of crushed stone, rock was blown up," the message says. 

The Ministry of Emergency Situations adds that the allegedly loud explosion, which the residents of Chelyabinsk reported on social networks, is a planned detonation of rock during the industrial production of crushed stone at the Starosmolinsky quarry near Chelyabinsk. 

Residents of the city share photos and videos from the scene in local Telegram channels.

The footage shows a black plume of smoke rising into the sky after the explosion.

The explosion scared the residents of the Russian city quite a bit.
