The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted massive raids in several states of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana and Delhi on Tuesday morning.

Raids on residential and other premises linked to gangsters in over six districts in these four states and Delhi in an ongoing case aimed at busting the emerging nexus between terrorists, gangsters and drug smugglers based in India and abroad, according to sources are going. 

The raids focused on gang nexus linked to Lawrence Bishnoi, Neeraj Bawana and Tillu Tajpuria and Goldie Brar, who are already on the radar of the anti-terror agency.

The raid was planned after the interrogation of several gangsters by the NIA.

In October, the NIA arrested a lawyer and a gangster from Haryana after a massive search operation at 52 locations in four north Indian states and Delhi.

The arrested lawyer was identified as Asif Khan, a resident of Gautam Vihar in Usmanpur area of ​​North East Delhi.

The agency had found four arms and some pistols, ammunition during the search at Khan's residence.

After which Khan was arrested.


According to the NIA, Asif Khan was in touch with the gangsters lodged in the jail.

NIA also arrested Rajesh alias Raju Mota, resident of Basaudi, Sonepat (Haryana).

According to the NIA, several criminal cases are registered against Mota.
