[Reporter Wu Zhengting/Kinmen Report] A woman surnamed Lin in Jinmen climbed Taiwu Mountain alone today. She slipped and sprained at the "hundred second step" of Caicuo Ancient Road. A rescue team of 7 people was dispatched, and the woman was successfully found to complete the rescue mission.

The County Fire Department’s Service Center stated that the woman decided to climb Taiwu Mountain on a whim in the morning. Unexpectedly, she entered from the entrance of the Caicuo Ancient Road and walked about 100 meters up the 120th step. She stepped on the air and fell to the side of the grass and was injured, so she called "119" for help. Chen Guowei, the captain of the second brigade of the fire department, immediately planned a quick rescue route for Ms. Lin based on the rescue and disaster prevention drills carried out on Taiwu Mountain.

The "7-member team" drove directly from the entrance of Pingtung to the parking lot on the 120th floor platform. They carried ambulance kits, 3-in-1 oxygen bags, suction handguards and other rescue equipment, and walked up the mountain for more than 100 meters. The 49-year-old woman surnamed Lin between the rocks and haystacks was judged to have not noticed that the rocks were wet and slippery due to the recent rain, and she accidentally stepped on the air and slipped, resulting in a sprained right ankle, unable to go down the mountain by herself, and asked the fire department for help.

Chen Guowei said that the initial assessment was that the injured person was conscious, and only his right foot was sprained all over his body, so he was immobilized with a soft handguard. The firefighter brothers carried the injured person to an ambulance with the help of two people, and sent him to the Jinmen Hospital of the Ministry of Health and Welfare. The rescue was successfully completed.

Chen Guowei said that Lin Nv climbed the ancient trail alone, wearing only ordinary sneakers, the soles of which were almost worn out, and did not pay attention to the wet and slippery stones, which were prone to accidents; she urged mountaineers to wear suitable hiking shoes, and it is best to go with them to improve mountaineering safety.

According to the county government, the Caicuo Ancient Road was a shortcut from Shamei to the outside of the mountain in the early days. The ancestors of Kinmen transported salt and tofu to the outside of the mountain for sale on the other side, forming the "salt road" and "ancient tofu road"; the trail is paved with natural rocks It is in the shape of steps, and because there are many stone steps, people call it "Hundred Two Steps".
