Gujarat Assembly Elections 2022: A scuffle broke out between supporters of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's 'roadshow' in Surat, Gujarat on Monday.

The incident took place in Katargam area in the evening when the convoy of vehicles involved in Kejriwal's 'road show' was passing through the area.

Kejriwal claimed that the stone was thrown during the 'roadshow'.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone-3), Pinakin Parmar said that Kejriwal was provided 'Z Plus' category security along with CAPFs (Central Armed Police Forces) in a four kilometer 'roadshow'.

He said, “The rally ended peacefully.

There was no incident of stone pelting.

There was a minor scuffle between the party workers, but the police brought the situation under control.

AAP national convenor Kejriwal said, "While we were moving forward, their (apparently referring to the BJP) supporters hurled a stone at us.

I think if he had done any work in the last 27 years, he would not have needed to throw stones.

I want to tell them that only Kejriwal will waive electricity bills, educate your children and give you flowers instead of stones.


Kejriwal said that he has not come here to commit hooliganism but to create a good society.

The Chief Minister of Delhi said, “AAP is a party of Sharif, patriots and honest people.

I am an educated person and will build a school for you.

If you want to abuse others, go with them.
