[Reporter Hong Ruiqin/Tainan Report] National Cheng Kung University held a "Low-Carbon City Conference" today (29th), focusing on energy transformation, green buildings, industrial carbon inventory and carbon verification. The Taiwan Chamber of Commerce and the Sharon Smart Industry Innovation Alliance jointly signed a memorandum of cooperation on sustainable development, promising to continue to promote international exchanges on sustainable development.

Huang Weizhe said that Tainan is committed to promoting the combination of green energy and industry, because green energy will be a new engine driving the economy in the future. Tainan has abundant sunshine conditions, which is very suitable for the development of solar photovoltaics. At present, the installed capacity of solar power in the city has reached 3.7GW, ranking first No. 1 in the country, the annual power generation reaches 4.79 billion kilowatt-hours, and the annual carbon reduction is 2.411 million tons. Tainan is the first city in Taiwan to formulate low-carbon city autonomy regulations. He Feiyi said that the European Chamber of Commerce released the "2023 Proposal" this year to make recommendations to Taiwan officials on energy policy and other issues. The National Development Council also promised to announce the detailed approach of "12 key strategies" by the end of this year.
