Ukraine's energy system still cannot recover from the massive shelling by the Russians.

Recently, it became known that

the lights will be turned on in Kyiv only for two or three hours twice a day

.

General Director of the YASNO energy company, Serhiy Kovalenko, explained why this is happening on the air of a single telethon.

"In the Kyiv region, we have about 600 megawatts, while we need 1,300. And of these 600 megawatts, 300 are needed for critical infrastructure that cannot be turned off - these are hospitals, maternity homes, utility companies. And for us, for end consumers, 300 remains with a small megawatts for consumption," Kovalenko said.

He noted that this balance must be distributed among consumers, so the lights are turned on only for a few hours a day.

"Therefore, when the networks say that (the light will be turned on, - ed.) for two or three hours a couple of times a day, they mean that these 300 megawatts must be distributed among consumers so that all consumers have light," Kovalenko stressed .

The general director of YASNO noted that it is currently impossible to predict the timing of the return to the planned outage schedules.

"The terms of reducing the deficit depend on the terms of the start-up of nuclear power generation... I hope that the situation will improve in a few days," he concluded.

Kovalenko also asked Kyiv residents not to turn on all gadgets and appliances at the same time when turning on the light, so as not to create significant load spikes.
