"You do bandages twice a day, but when you have 60 patients in your department, you simply don't have enough physical strength and human resources.

We are already working at the limit of what is possible," he said.

The need for VAK devices and consumables for them is one of the most acute since the beginning of the war.

Volunteer organizations, the Ministry of Health and foreign partners are working continuously to solve this problem, but the urgent need remains, experts say.

Departments of surgery in Ukrainian hospitals, which receive seriously wounded soldiers, are overloaded by 50-70%.

Right now, at least 1,000 defenders of Ukraine need intensive vacuum therapy, which will speed up the healing of complex lacerations and burns.

The situation is aggravated by the fact that there is a great shortage of consumables for the VAK - containers, disposable sponges and sealing films.

Currently, doctors are forced to clean and reuse disposable containers.

Machines fail, and time is wasted on restoring them, instead of using it to treat the seriously injured.

In order to help, BF "Soborna" started an urgent collection of funds.

The goal is $1,307,000. These funds will be enough to purchase 187 VAK machines and more than 23,000 consumables, and thus help 31 hospitals in Ukraine where the most critical situation has developed.

  • What is VAC therapy?

Vacuum therapy (Vacuum-Assisted Closure) is the latest technology in the treatment of complex, deep and chronic wounds using negative pressure.

What are the advantages of using HAC therapy in the treatment of severely wounded soldiers?

Using a vacuum allows you to clean the wound faster and protect it from the appearance or spread of infections.

This reduces the likelihood of further surgery.

Devices reduce the burden on doctors: instead of traditional bandages, which need to be done twice a day, VAKs allow it to be done once every few days.

And the restoration of damaged tissues is accelerated at least 2 times.

$1,307,000 will help heal 3,500 wounds of our soldiers twice as fast.
